Event coordinator Lee Kennedy said the last Rah Con attracted more than 800 attendees.
“It makes it one of the most successful pop culture conventions in WA outside of the major touring conventions, and has attracted people as far as Albany, Kalgoorlie and Geraldton,” he said.
“This year’s Facebook Event page has almost 1,700 people at the time of writing, either down as interested or going this year.”
Kennedy said the event had been “successful beyond expectations”.
“The event started at a City of Mandurah Youth Development event and was intended to be just a small event at the Billy Dower Youth Centre, with an expectation of 100 or less people,” she said.
“The event was upgraded to a larger event at Mandurah Convention Centre and ended up attracting 750 people, well above our expectations.”
In addition to Bendixsen hosting, Kennedy said magician Pierre Ulric would be performing to complement the 2018 theme.
Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online or by calling 9550 3900.
