“There is carnage everywhere in India, with tankers rolled on the side of the road and accidents appearing around most corners,” he said.
“Riding is like a game of chicken.”
Mr Nye was travelling near the Kerala region when it faced extreme flooding, with more than one million people evacuated and hundreds dying from the disaster.
He took heed of the authorities and traveled inland.
Mr Nye said technology issues plagued him throughout the journey. He lost phone coverage in Chandigarh and subsequently became lost himself.
At one stage he had been on the road for nearly 27 hours before eventually stopping to rest.
Despite feeling utterly exhausted, Mr Nye said it was a psychological boost for him each time he completed a corner.
Mr Nye said the Indian people were welcoming, with some even asking for photos and ‘selfies’.
