Surfers and swimmers are being warned to take caution around Avalon beach in Falcon, after a dead seal was spotted 100 metres offshore, potentially attracting sharks to the area.
Police were alerted of the carcass just after 10am on Saturday.
The Department of Transport are visiting the Avalon Foreshore Reserve Boat Ramp, to see if they can move the seal to avoid attracting sharks to the area.
