A severe weather warning has been put in place for parts of the Perth metropolitan and South West areas, with the Bureau of Meteorology advising gusty winds could reach speeds up to 100 kilometres per hour.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) urges residents to take action with the winds having the potential to cause damage to homes over the next few hours.
They are expected moderate and drop gradually throughout the course of the night.
DFES advises residents to sure up loose items around their homes.
Mandurah looks set to miss the bulk of the deep low pressure system with the Bureau forecasting winds of 20-25km per hour, but residents are urged to take precautions.
