A Mandurah man has been left “rattled” after thieves stole his possessions and left a molotov cocktail at his property overnight.
Graham Toase said he was shocked when he woke on Monday morning to find a bottle filled with flammable liquid in the backyard of his Ward Street property.
He also found a sock soaked in methylated spirits hanging out of the bottle.
Mr Toase said the seriousness of the petrol bomb hit home when he found a grey lighter in close proximity.
The local tradesman has been living in the area for the past 17 years and at his current central Mandurah address for about two years.
Mr Toase said he had never encountered a similar crime and that he no longer felt safe in his own home.
Tools, a dash camera and several other items were taken from a ute he had parked in his front driveway.
“It’s wrong. It’s just wrong. What gives these scum the right to leave bombs at your house?” he said.
Mr Toase said the area was usually quiet.
Police have been notified and will investigate the incident.
