The South Mandurah Tennis Club’s under 14s side tasted grand final success when they claimed the 2018 division two Winter Junior Tennis West Pennants league title at their home courts on Sunday.
The team had challenging matches against Mount Lawley Tennis Club as both recorded two rubbers each after the singles matches.
Both teams had played their best in the doubles and again each club clinched one rubber each to bring the total to three awarded to each team.
A close final ensued but South Mandurah ended up bringing the shield home with a seven to six sets win – a team effort accomplished by Corey Hill, Jacob Hudson-Still, Haydn Webb and Jye Kenward.
The club is now currently recruiting players who would like to play for the Summer Tennis West Pennants League.
