Mandurah fire and emergency services teams collaborated to familiarise themselves with the RAC Rescue Helicopter recently in an effort to respond to incidents effectively.
Mandurah Southern Districts Bush Fire Brigade captain Adrian Kotowski said it was important for emergency services personnel to maintain and improve their skillsets.
“Multiagency training, such as this, is crucial for developing communication between units, and better prepares volunteers for large scale response,” he said.
Mandurah Mayor Rhys Williams thanked the volunteers for their service.
“These people provide an important service to our community,” he said.
“Not matter whether it is fire or flood or an emergency at sea, we rely on these community volunteers to help keep us safe – so thank you on behalf of the community.”
