Some of the best floral creations from around the state will be in full bloom at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre during the city’s annual Fantasy of Flowers exhibition.
The three-day showcase will see creative flair shine through gorgeous and unique bouquets.
Returning for its third year locally, the event generally sees about two truckloads of flowers displayed throughout the popular entertainment precinct along the foreshore.
The event is dedicated to bringing people together and sharing floristry industry knowledge with other professionals and the public.
At 1pm on September 1, the community is invited to join organisers to officially open the event.
During the launch the winners of the eight competitions will be announced, followed by the South Metropolitan TAFE student awards.
The event is an opportunity for the students to show off their talents and the competition is included as part of their coursework.
The students will also display their capabilities by decorating the magnificent staircase under the direction of their lecturer Clement Lee.
Afternoon tea will be served after the launch.
Entry to the exhibition is $2 per adult and children enter free.
Opening hours:
- Friday, August 31 from 5-9pm.
- Saturday, September 1 from 10am-9pm.
- Sunday, September 2 from 10am-4pm.
Fantasy of Flowers organisers will also hold a private gala fundraiser at the arts centre on September 1.
Two of Australia's well known international demonstrators, Alan Randell Smith and Clement Lee, will entertain guests with their unique designs and "flower talk".
Tickets are available from Mandurah Performing Arts Centre box office at $45 each.
