A crowd of hundreds flocked to Rushton Park on Sunday for the Mandurah Makos Masters Football Club’s home carnival, held in honour of Amber Field.
Amber, daughter of Makos player Tim and his wife Kirstin, died at the age of four last August following surgery after a lengthy battle with congenital heart disease.

Almost exactly a year on, the Makos used their latest home carnival to honour her memory, while raising funds for children’s charities Heartkids and the Starlight Foundation, which stood by Amber’s side throughout her time in hospital.
The day saw more than 30 AFL Masters teams hit the turf, while Rushton Park turned into a sea of colour to remember Amber.
