Authorities respond to Dower Street and Pinjarra Road intersection collision

Emergency services responded to a car crash on the Dower Street and Pinjarra Road intersection on Saturday afternoon.

About 5pm, a two-car collision left a couple trapped in a red Nissan that was flipped onto its left-hand side.

Mandurah Fire and Rescue crews helped remove the elderly man driver and his passenger, who walked away from the incident without injury.

Police will allege a 21-year-old Madora Bay driver of white Toyota Prius ran a red light at the intersection.

The woman and her three passengers weren’t seriously injured in the crash.

Nearby residents said the sound of the collision could be heard from a block away.

Two ambulances were at the scene to treat those involved in the crash.

At this stage, no charges have been laid over the incident and police investigations will continue.
