More than 60 community members submitted photos from the past and present into the Mandurah Bridge Photographic Awards.
The bridge replacement was one of the largest infrastructure projects Mandurah has undertaken and the city wanted to involve the community in its celebration.
On Friday night, the winners were announced at the Mandurah Museum.

A total of 100 photographs were submitted on the theme Transformation.
Professional photographers Ivor Metlitsky and Ron Speed were among the judges, as well as deputy mayor Caroline Knight.
The winner of the Children’s Award, Heidi Beal-Daniels, was praised for her “original and captivating work”.
Brodie Hine won the Youth Award for Soft Waters.
The judges said this photograph might be the “first of many iconic photographs to be taken of the pillars of the old Mandurah Bridge juxtaposed with the new bridge”.
There were two winners in the Open Category because the judges could not split the works of Veronika Sajova and Cindy Bosveld.
The People’s Choice award was won by Benjamin Mountain for his photograph Beautiful Night.
Mr Williams said the bridge was a joint venture between the people of Mandurah and the City of Mandurah.
“As we go forward I want to ensure that almost everything we do is done together with the community, which is why I was really happy that there was a People’s Choice award,” he said.
“These photos will now form part of our history.
“They document the old and the new, and the link between the two.
“I look forward to having one of these photos displayed in council chambers to remind us of this link and the success of this collaboration with community.”
