Mandurah residents will need their umbrellas if they plan on stepping outside this weekend, according to the Bureau of Meteorology’s forecast.
Friday morning’s sunny skies could soon be a thing of the past with the Bureau predicting up to 40mm of rain across Saturday and Sunday, along with harsh winds.
Saturday is expected to cop the brunt of the cold front’s conditions, with a 100 per cent chance of rain and up to 30mm set to fall on the city.
But while the rain drops on Sunday conditions are still expected to worsen with the possibility of a thunderstorm and winds up to 55 kilometres per hour.
Showers are likely to ease off on Monday, but will continue throughout the week with a small rise in rainfall to come on Wednesday.
It won’t be until Thursday that the chance of rain drops below 80 per cent.
The wet weekend is expected to put the city’s July rainfall total past 100mm, as it currently sits at 74.8mm after a relatively dry fortnight, which followed on from downpours at the start of the month.
