The Peel Health Campus has appointed a new director of clinical services, who has more than two decades of nursing experience in Australia and abroad.
Karol Edge has worked across the public and private sectors in management roles and also in delivering direct patient care.
In her new role, Ms Edge has executive responsibility for nursing, midwifery and allied health, which makes up more than 500 staff.

Ms Edge is also responsible for overseeing the areas of quality, education, safety, and training at the hospital.
“I’m passionate about healthcare and I want to make a difference,” she said.
“Visiting a number of different hospitals and healthcare organisations overseas and in Australia has given me a solid understanding of what works well and what doesn’t.”
Ms Edge said she gave staff the support they needed to achieve their goals.
“One of my biggest achievements has been mentoring nurses...many who have ended up in management roles,” she said.
Peel Health Campus chief Margaret Sturdy said she was delighted to have Ms Edge on the team.
“Karol’s skills and experience will be of tremendous value to our ongoing delivery of excellent patient care,” she said.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our previous director of clinical services, Di Barr, who made an outstanding contribution to Peel Health Campus over the five years she was in the role.
“Di is now executive director at Armadale Kalamunda Group.”
