A wet and wild start to the month has Mandurah on track to cruise past the July rainfall average, following downpours across the past week.
In fact at this pace Mandurah is situated to almost double its record rainfall in a July month, which currently stands at 155.8mm recorded by the Bureau of Meteorology in 2007.
The city has felt the brunt of winter weather over the past four days with a total 34.8mm of rainfall recorded.
The majority of that figure belongs to Tuesday’s extreme conditions, that saw 25.4mm drenching the city across the 24-hour period.
At that pace Mandurah is on track to post 297.6mm of rain throughout July’s 31 days, which would be the highest monthly rainfall ever felt by the city.
But dry forecasts over the coming seven days could bring that to a grinding halt.
While the early hours of Thursday morning treated the city to some wild wind and rain, with it set to linger throughout most of the day, the Bureau predicts the remainder of the week to be relatively dry with possible showers not forecast until Wednesday.
