Mandurah Mustangs product Brad Lynch will make his AFL debut with the Western Bulldogs when they take on Geelong at Etihad Stadium on Friday night.
The Peel-region junior has been on the Bulldogs’ list since he was taken with their first pick in the 2015 NAB AFL Rookie Draft, winning a premiership with their VFL squad Footscray in 2016 before injury hampered his 2017 campaign.
Now, fully fit and firing, the 20-year-old will make his first senior appearance and become the 1007th player to grace the turf for the Bulldogs’ top side when they square off against the Cats.
Lynch has been lauded for his excellent foot skills on both sides of his body, and has impressed in the VFL in recent weeks.
His last performance for Footscray saw him net 19 disposals and take six marks in a win over North Melbourne.
The smooth-moving defender joins fellow Peel region product Aaron Naughton in the senior side, who has been a shining light for the Bulldogs in his rookie season.
He will be the Bulldogs’ fourth first-gamer on the season, alongside Naughton, Ed Richards and Billy Gowers.
