An elderly man in his 70s was taken to hospital with potential spinal injuries after a four-car crash in Mandurah on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident happened about 2.40pm on Mandurah Road, 500 metres north of the Pinjarra Road intersection, close to the entry to Mandurah Train Station.
A man driving a Holden Cruze is alleged to have rear-ended the car in front of it, with damage to a Mistubishi Outlander, Holden Apollo and Toyota Camry as a result.
St John Ambulance attended the scene and took the injured elderly man to Peel Health Campus.
The man complained of aching pain in his neck and back and was stretchered into the ambulance as a precuation, although he was conscious.
None of the other people involved in the incident reported any injuries.
Traffic on Mandurah Road was halted for about 30 minutes after the incident before being reduced to one lane, with debris from the crash on the road.
