Mandurah Catholic College students were told to speak up to bullies, when guest speaker Adam Pryzula, spoke to the school about the issue.
Mr Pryzula, who has run school programs for over 20 years, spoke to Year 8 and 9 students recently about importance of building resilience and said bullies had the ability to “step up”, so their past actions did not define their future path.
Head of Year 8 Alicia Wilkinson said the school presentation was both interesting and thought provoking.

"Both year groups were challenged as to whether they might be, or have been, bullies, victims or bystanders,” she said.
“In order to challenge bullying behaviour, Adam identified the key group to making a difference as the bystanders.
“These are the students who can assertively make others aware of behaviour or actions that are unacceptable and provide a chance for that behaviour to change."
Mr Pryzula said it was hard to know what another individual was going through.
He said a person verbally bullied was 70 per cent more likely to take those words with them into the rest of their lives.
Mr Pryzula's personal experiences in high school led him to start the Armed for Life organisation several years ago while completing a teaching degree, and he now presents to over 150 schools.
