Murray youths gear up for inaugural Pinjarra Amazing Race

People aged 12 to 25, who are keen to be challenged to an adventure are encouraged to enter the inaugural Pinjarra Amazing Race.

Departing from Murray Leisure Centre at 4.30pm on June 28, teams of two will race around Pinjarra town centre, completing a number of physical or mental challenges to uncover clues to progress their journey and lead them to their final destination.

Prizes are up for grabs for the first three teams across the finish line and a number of spot prizes will be awarded during the event.

A $5 per participant, entry fee secures a spot in the race, as well as a competition t-shirt and refreshments upon course completion.

Check in will take place from 4pm.

According to Shire of Murray president David Bolt, the community has rallied through the Alliance Against Depression.

“Affiliated service organisations, local businesses and sporting associations as well as the Shire of Murray and WA Primary Health Alliance are joining forces to bring this event to fruition, to address depression in an upbeat, engaging way.

“The event links young people to services and support in their community,” Mr Bolt said.

Registration forms can be obtained from the Shire of Murray website or Administration Office at 1915 Pinjarra Road.

For further event information contact community development officer Kelly Shipway or project officer Donna Duxbury on (08) 9531 7775.
