In a response to parents bullying concerns, Pinjarra Primary School decided to tackle the serious issue with fun and teamwork combined.
Pinjarra Primary School deputy principal Lea Tunbridge said parents of Year 6 students had voiced their concerns at a school board meeting.
“They said there was a lot of bullying behaviour and asked what we were going to do about it,” she said.

Ms Tunbridge used her theatre experience as president of the Murray Music Drama Club, and took inspiration from film The Greatest Showman’s anti-bullying theme, to get the students engaged with the issue.
“In the film, people were bullied for what they looked like and sounded like,” she said.
“One man bought them all together and encouraged them to embrace their differences and not listen to what others had to say.
“We had students watch the film and analyse the message in a number of classroom projects.
“Students auditioned to perform a song from the film, This Is Me, at a whole school assembly.”
Ms Tunbridge said the performance encouraged different students to come together for the same cause.
The dance will be performed at Pinjarra Primary School at 9am and 11am on June 19, and is open to parents and community members.
At the same assembly, students will perform short anti-bullying plays on topics including cyber bullying and racism.
