A fallen tree branch has brought down powerlines and forced police to close a section of Park Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The incident that occurred about 12.30am, left about 3000 homes in the area without power.
A Western Power Emergency Response crew was at the scene to de-energised and clean away the powerlines that were scatted across the street.
Police closed a small stretch of Park Road between Reserve Drive and Tindale Street shortly after the incident but have since reopened the route.
About 400 customers in the area of Park Road, Mandurah are still without power.
“Power was restored the majority of those customers by 7.30am, with crews currently repairing the remaining section and hoping to be completed by lunch time,” a spokesman from Western Power said.
“We ask that if people see a fallen powerline or damage to the network, to please stay eight metres away and make the safe call to us on 13 13 51.”
