The number of community members that attend Koolbardies Talking, a meeting group for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal women, has grown in recent years, said group member Louise Helfgott.
“We have a lot more people coming...it’s great to see how the group has grown,” she said.
The free group is for women looking for support, friendship or just a chat.
Ms Helfgott said the group aimed to understand issues in the community and counter racism.
Recent guest speakers included Girls Academy members Christine Haines and Maureen Gibbons, who spoke about the organisation and how it empowered young Aboriginal girls through leadership.
Ms Helfgott said the group had been asked to visit Mandurah Primary School in August for NAIDOC Week.
The next meeting will be at Coodanup College on June 18 from 10.30 to 12pm in the college’s conference room.
