The Mandurah SES unit is urging residents to prepare for another batch of wild weather with a deep low expected to pass through on Friday afternoon.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, gusts of 100 kilometres per hour capable of damaging homes and properties are a possibility as the deep low pressure system moves to the south of the state.
The storm is expected to produce conditions windier than a typical cold front and is likely to produce the kind of weather that is only seen around twice a year in the South West corner of WA.
Mandurah SES unit media officer Bec Burns urged residents to tie down any loose items outside of their house to avoid damage.
“It looks like it’s going to get pretty heavy this afternoon, probably more so than it was last night,” she said.
“At this point we just ask that people make sure things like outdoor settings, trampolines and such are tied down, just to minimise any potential damage.”
The Mandurah SES unit attended four minor call-outs after rough winds rattled the city last night, but is anticipating more jobs in the coming 24 hours on the back of the second low.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services issued a severe weather warning at 11.40am on Friday.
