Peel residents managed to dodge most of the power outages from the storm that rolled through the state last night.
A Western Power spokesman said there were six Golden Bay residents whose power was affected by the bad weather.
Other parts of the state were not so lucky, with winds in the Great Southern in excess of 110 km/h causing trees to fall on power lines and damage insulators.

“At the peak of the storm there was approximately 11,000 customers affected by outages but that number has been reduced to around 6,600,” the spokesman said.
“In the south of the network, around 3,900 customers were affected with Bridgetown having around 1,200 customers affected.
“Overnight we had extra emergency response crews working to make safe the damage created by the storm and are we preparing more crews to assist this morning.
“The focus for our crews continues to be to attend and make these hazards safe to as they are reported.
“We ask for your patience during this process as community safety is our priority before we begin any attempts to restore power to customers.”
Another front is expected later today with a severe weather warning issued by DFES at 11.40am, encouraging parts of the state to prepare including the Peel region.
The spokesman said to phone 13 13 51 if you see damage, and keep at least eight metres away from the hazard.
