The community gathered on Saturday afternoon, to officially open the new Madora Bay boardwalk and viewing platform, opposite McLennen Park.
The Madora Bay Community Association (MBCA) worked closely with local residents and the City of Mandurah to bring their vision to life.
MBCA president Marion Blair said she drove past the platform the night prior, and saw community members enjoying the view.

“They were watching the sunset and enjoying the scenery,” she said. “Before you couldn’t do that.”
Madora Bay resident, who attended the launch with his two children, said the platform would add value to their lives.
“You can just see how beautiful the beach is,” he said. “We used to go elsewhere for fireworks but I think we’ll come here next time.”
Mandurah MP David Templeman, mayor Rhys Williams and deputy mayor Caroline Knight joined the association and community to officially open the platform.
Mr Williams said he liked that the community identified what it needed, and came to the City with the idea.
“The Madora Bay Community Assocation is one of the best examples of that in Mandurah,” he said.
“It could be infrastructure, programs and events...they identify what they want to do and we support it.
“We’ll be looking to work with resident associations right across the community to follow in that similar type of model.”
After the short formalities, everyone headed across the road to McLennen Park for the MBCA Mother’s Day sun-downer that included a sausage sizzle and family-friendly activities.
The project received a $50,000 grant funding from the State Government’s Royalties for Regions program.
