Chief executive officer Merinda March said the 116 bed facility was well in need of an upgrade and was happy with the two-wings recently completed.
“Residents have patiently waited three-months while the renovations were completed, and were today presented with their new modernized, brightened and freshened apartments,” she said.
“The Sutton and Tuckey Family donated this land forty-five years ago, so the Mandurah community could have an appropriate centre for our seniors, so people did not have to move up to Perth when their health deteriorated.
“I’m really proud of the fact that we were able to maintain the integrity of the sight, yet modernize it.”
Ms March said further renovations were in the works including another 20-bed facility and more independent living units.
“We’re extending in a large way over the next five to 10 years,” she said.
“We want to make sure we can provide to our elders in the best possible environment to live their life.”
