The entertainment line-up for the 2018 LiveLighter Pinjarra Festival is set to sizzle, making this year’s event the perfect winter warmer.
Shire of Murray president David Bolt, encouraged WA to head over to Pinjarra’s Edenvale Homestead during the WA Day long weekend, to celebrate the area’s distinctive history and lifestyle.
“The event’s array of live music, market stalls, children’s activities, displays, demos, workshops, amusements and more, is sure to have every family member captivated,” Mr Bolt said.

On the Lotterywest main stage on the Saturday, musical duo Two Tone Music will harmonise attendees, who will be further entertained by one of the latest additions to the region’s music scene, The Circus Band.
On the Sunday, Perth’s six-piece brass band Junkadelic, will have the crowd boogieing to their blend of rhythms inspired by New Orleans street music with Latin and hip-hop influences.
Hype will conclude Sunday’s main stage entertainment, with their energetic show performing songs from popular pop, rock, country, blues, classic and contemporary genres.
Buskers will perform at various locations throughout the festival grounds, for the musical entertainment of the masses as they browse more than 100 market stalls as well as the vintage car and machinery displays, are enlightened by the woodturning demonstrations, appease their appetites from a choice of 26 food trucks and enjoy heritage tours.
For the kids, the high energy Eco Faeries show, will have onlookers dancing like Willie Wagtails to original and entertaining educational songs.
They can also jump, swirl and shake in the free Eco Faeries Energiser Zone presented by Alcoa, and expend further energy in the unique Gymbus playground presented by MZI Resources.
Free face painting and art and crafts activities will further delight the kids, as will the free percussion and dance workshops run by Junkadelic on the Sunday.
Annual favourites, the Farmyard Family Petting Zoo and camel, pony and train rides, will also be available.
The older siblings can enjoy free laser tag as well as the show bags, amusements and the bucking bull.
“Together with a number of other exciting events taking place over the course of the weekend including the St Joseph’s School Fair, Pinjarra RSL Open Day, Alcoa and Pinjarra Rotary Art Exhibition and Sale, and the Livelihood Handcraft Exhibition and Sale, Pinjarra is set to shine,” Mr Bolt said.
“A sea of hands will be laid along the banks of the Murray River near the swing bridge, in a symbolic display of the communities reach for reconciliation, and residents and visitors can join local artists Vanessa Black, Gloria Kearing and Jen Ruyter, at the courthouse to create a community mural in the heart of Pinjarra.
“The weekend is a great opportunity to be immersed in Pinjarra’s unique history and lifestyle and the Shire of Murray encourages community members and visitors from far and wide, to embrace it.”
