The local cake decorating branch were “blown away” when a Perth baker presented a free chocolate sculpture class recently.
A number of members from the Cake Decorators Association of WA Mandurah Branch (CDA) and the community attended the workshop with self-taught baker Robert Harwood.
CDA Mandurah vice president Jan Criddle said Mr Harwood was a “new-age” teacher taught tricks and tips on how to decorate quickly, with minimal fuss.

“It was excellent,” she said. “It was above and beyond what we expected.”
She said workshop participants had the chance to create chocolate models, with hands-on help from Mr Hardwood.
Ms Criddle said she thought cake decorating was “alive and well, and on the re-surge” after the 29 attendee turnout.
The next class will be on making chocolate wraps and edible chocolate roses.
