Several locations in the Peel region have been highlighted as part of a creative multimedia project that saw designs from this year’s Wearable Art Mandurah on show.
The Creery Wetlands, Town Beach and the New Traffic Bridge were just some of the spots models posed at in their extravagant garments for the project.
The annual Wearable Art Mandurah competition will see fifty-two designers put their creativity on show at a colourful showcase on June 9-10.

One designer who was involved in the colourful process was Mandurah mother Michelle Murphy.
Her dress called Mirabilia draws together anything from old scrapped fabrics, to wire and other odd materials.
“Mirabilia is Italian for ‘collection of unique and usual items’, so that’s where the name came from,” she said.
“She’s part of nature and man-made bling.
“I wanted a name that described it for me. So I made it then I was like ‘let’s find a really cool name for it’.
“Mirabilia was the one that I found and it just fitted beautifully.”
The extravagant garment took about eight months to create.
Ms Murphy also took time to thank charity stores Halo, Good Sammy and Vinnies.
“Without them Life is a Jigsaw and Mirabilia wouldn’t have come together, we as a family support and love the amazing job they do in supporting our community,” she said.
Ms Murphy’s model twin daughters Kiana Lee and Tyler Rae will be flaunting garments in the showcase.
Tyler Rae will wear her mother’s Mirabilia piece and Kiana will wear her own creations titled Life is a Jigsaw.
Ms Murphy is passionate about the showcase and said it had become a “family-affair” after her 13-year-old daughters started participating
In fact, she has already started on next year’s garment.
