Several Peel Aquatic Club swimmers showed off their speed in the pool at the WA Junior Long Course Championships at HBF Stadium over the weekend.
Covering three days, Peel ended the meet as the state’s best country-based club and the seventh best out of 43 clubs statewide overall.
Their young guns were dominant in claiming the country category, winning by a whopping 117 points as all 17 of their swimmers put up at least one personal best time at the meet.
Peel’s final medal count was a stellar two gold, 12 silver and five bronze, which included two podium finished in the 11-12 girls freestyle and medley relays, reflecting the strength of their age groups.
Caitlyn Leather was a star at the event, smashing three Peel club records in butterfly events and picking up a bundle of medals, while Aroha Tarrant took out two silver and three bronze medals.
Regan Ashby, Lexcen King, Maryanne Vunikura and Summer houston also picked up medals for the club, while Heidi Gstaettner was the leading marquee swimmer for Peel.
