A 26-year-old Lakelands man pleaded not guilty in court on Tuesday to punching an Uber driver multiple times in the back of the head in an alleged unprovoked attack after Saint Patrick's Day celebrations.
Prosecuting sergeant Sean Discombe alleged in the Mandurah Magistrates Court the 35-year-old victim picked up Mathew John Day and two others from the Brighton Hotel about 1.50am on March 18, and drove them towards Lakelands.
He said Mr Day asked to be driven to McDonald's about 15-minutes into the journey.

Mr Discombe said prosecution had about eight witnesses for trial.
Defence lawyer Chad Silver said Mr Day had three witnesses.
Mr Day was scheduled for trial in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on May 29, 2018.
