Two Mandurah Baptist College students will join the first Australian team to compete at the Summit All Star Cheerleading Championship next month, held at Disney World in Florida, USA.
In the lead up to the competition on May 3 and 4, year seven students Charli McColl and Bella Leicester have been training about 12 hours per week with their Port Kennedy cheer squad Toxic.
Mandurah Baptist College teacher Kylee Retallack said the pair would be competing against the best in the world.
“Both Charli and Bella are flyers in the team, relying on immense trust in their teams mates,” she said.
Ms Retallack said the students had both been cheerleading since they were about five-years-old.
“They both love their sport, which is better understood as a wonderful mix of gymnastics, dance, strength, flexibility and trust,” she said.
