A local child health nurse has retired after 30 years of helping hundreds of mothers and daughters in the Peel region.
Colleagues of Robin Newman’s told the Mandurah Mail at her farewell afternoon-tea she would be sorely missed as an educator, friend and mentor.
Clinical nurse manager Angie Hankison said Robyn had been been a vital resource to new mother’s and babies in the region.

“Robyn was in fact my child health nurse and she has seen three-generations in my family – she has been around for a long time,” Ms Hankinson said.
Colleague and friend Roberta Malloy, who had worked with Robyn for 20 years, said she was a “fantastic” nurse.
“She makes mothers feel as if she has all the time in the world for them,” she said. “Which really helped first-time, anxious mothers. All I ever hear is: ‘Robyn made me feel better’.”
Ms Malloy said she imparted her wisdom on new students undertaking work experience at the clinic and helped new nurses find their feet.
“Robyn shared her knowledge and expertise with everybody,” she said.
Ms Malloy said the team was going to “miss her dearly”.
“We have had her for such a long time and she has been brilliant,” she said. “She’s a real lovely, humble and genuine person.”
