Western Australia’s richest provincial race day will return to Pinjarra Park this Saturday, February 10 when the club hosts its annual Magic Millions WA Ladies Day.
The meet will see WA’s finest horses, trainers and jockeys hit the track at Pinjarra vying for more than $400,000 worth of prize money across the day’s two feature races.
A total $250,000 will be on the line when some of the state’s top two-year-olds tear up the turf in race six, while the Magic Millions three-year-old trophy combines a pool of $150,000.
Pinjarra Park general manager Michael Lodding said the day was a special one for the club, providing them with the ability to showcase the Peel region to a host of visitors.
“Not only do you have the best trainers and jockeys here but the day attracts a lot of tourists that want to check out what the Magic Millions is all about,” he said.
“We’re expecting around 4000 people to come through the gate.
“Magic Millions is a unique series across Australia so it’s always a proud day for us to be able to host this race meet.”
The Ladies Day event will see plenty of action off the track with Fashions on the Field set to be a drawcard.
An Andrew Ralph diamond will be up for grabs in the competition, along with a watch in the men’s category.
The winner of the women’s Fashions on the Field will also earn a spot in a further final, where a trip to London will be on the line.
“It’s really a great day out for the entire family – there’s something for everyone and it’s one of our biggest days of the year,” Lodding said.
The weather forecast for the day is looking gorgeous at a mostly sunny 30 degrees.
Racing action on the day kicks off just before 1pm.
