An early learning centre, for children aged six months to five years, has opened its doors in South Yunderup.
The addition to Austin Cove Baptist College would allow children to attend the campus from kindergarten right through to Year 12.
The learning centre was approved by the Murray Shire last year and will reside at the primary school campus.
Early Learning director Serena Lewis said the centre was great for parents to have access to a one-stop-shop.
“South Yunderup is small, but it’s growing,” she said. “There are young families and it’s great for them to be able to drop their kids off at the school and have that continuity through to college.”
Ms Lewis said the centre will have the same “ethos” as the college; to provide high quality learning in a safe, caring environment.
“We also want our children to be involved in nature,” she said.

“Outdoor nature is fundamental for their welbeing.
“They will be able to connect through their natural play spaces, gardens, animals and the local community.”
Ms Lewis said the centre would be holding a soup kitchen for the community, in the near future.
“We want to start growing our own veggies and hold the soup kitchen, so the children can be involved in the whole process and do something with the community,” she said.
The centre will open Monday to Friday and be closed on public holidays.
