Peel Water Police rescued a woman who was lost in the Estuary on Thursday night while crabbing.
A police spokesman said Peel officers co-ordinated a successful marine search and rescue operation in Herron at about 10pm, after the woman was reported lost and stranded in water losing sight of her two friends.
The group had parked their vehicle off Southern Estuary Road and all three walked into the water to do some crabbing.
The men walked in the water out towards Brunswick Island while the woman turned back before she got to the island.
She became disorientated and ended up in deeper water, about 300 metres north from their original point.
Peel Water Police were advised by her friends who had made their way back to the vehicle.
South Metro Response officers also assisted the search.
The missing woman was found by Peel Water Police in the water with no injuries and all three were conveyed safely back to Port Bouvard Marina.
