While most students will enjoy school holidays with leisurely activities, Foundation Christian College student Tom Cronin, will spend a week attending the prestigious Future Doctors Program at the Harry Perkins Medical Research Institute in Nedlands.
Tom will participate in five days of intensive medical mentoring learning how to use a variety of medical instruments, scrub up for surgery, learn how to suture a wound and get emergency medicine training.
College principal Andrew Newhouse said that Tom was a dedicated student who has dreams of becoming a neurosurgeon.

“Tom has always shown a commitment to his schooling and since deciding to pursue a medical career, Foundation Christian College is keen to help him achieve his dreams.”
“We understand that Tom is one of 29 students selected for the annual program and was chosen from a very competitive group of applicants,” Mr Newhouse said.
“While an internationally run program, here in Australia, it is only conducted in Perth by Doctor Anton Scheepers.
“So we recognize this is a very special opportunity for Tom.”
Dr Scheepers is the founder of The Apprentice Doctor Corporation and in conjunction with Scitech will present The Future Doctors Program.
“We are very proud of our students who work hard to pursue their dreams, so we look forward to hearing about Tom’s experience at the Future Doctors Program,” Mr Newhouse said.
