South Halls Head Primary School showed they are home to some of the state’s brightest young rugby league stars with a win at the recent School Sport Legends Rugby League competition in Fremantle.
The school’s girls team was absolutely dominant at the carnival, making it back-to-back wins when they went undefeated without conceding a single try through seven games.
The girls progressed to the final on the back of strong performances from Aroha Tarrant (22 tries) and Aleigha Aldersley, where they beat Auburn Grove four tries to nil.
Both Aroha and Aleigha notched a pair of tries in the final game.
Coach Andrew Tarrant said the win was recognition for all the hard work the girls had put in on the training track.
“The whole squad trained so hard and I'm happy for them, their parents and the school,” he said.
“It’s been a golden year for the girls, they trained the house down, and special thanks to Paul Gallash for all his hard work in guiding the schools sporting achievements.”
The boys side was not as fortunate as the girls, making it through to the final where they fell just short to fellow Mandurah-based side Meadow Springs five tries to nil.
