Mandurah Catholic College students have switched off their phone, tablets and laptops during recess and lunch thanks to a new initiative introduced by the school’s library.
Head of information services Sarah Love said students were getting too much “screen time” and the initiative got them talking between on another.

Thanks to various equipment and supplies on available, students could play board games, cards, or build things together.
Ms Love said anything that does not involve an electronic device was provided as part of a drive to encourage children to “communicate and imagine” without social media.
