Mandurah model Talia Harris is “soaking up every moment” after being named a finalist in the 2017 Miss Supercars Sports Model Search.
Ms Harris was named to the final after edging out hundreds of other models in a public vote, and will now head to the Virgin Australia Supercars Gold Coast 600 in a bid to be crowned the 2017 champion later this month.
The local model, who has been a Supercars fan since she was a child, said she was thrilled to be a part of the Gold Coast 600.
“I’m just so excited to be a part of such a great event and to get to see it first hand,” she said.
“I remember even as a kid I was a big Supercars fan and my family loves it, so it’s really awesome to be involved.”
Ms Harris will take on 23 other finalists modelling festival, evening and swimwear to a judging panel.
The Mandurah girl said she would go in without expectations and would simply look to enjoy the atmosphere.
“I’d love to win it all just for the opportunities it would bring, so I’m a little nervous, but really I’m just excited to have the chance,” she said.
“To win would be a dream, but it’s a dream just to be able to head over to the Gold Coast and be a part of the spectacle.
“Hopefully I can do everyone back home in Mandurah proud.”
It’s been a rapid take-off for Mr Harris’ modelling career.
After starting out just 18 months ago, she has already represented Australia in the Miss Summer World beauty pageant in Albania and will now look to do her state proud on the Gold Coast.
The winner of the Gold Coast competition will share in a $20,000 prize pool including a thrilling photo shoot on track, new Supercars mentor program, red-carpet Supercars gala and various Supercar round experiences.
