The Mandurah Triathlon Club will officially open its 2017/18 season with a launch at the Old Yacht Club, Mary Street on Friday night.
The event will launch an action-packed 10-race season for the club, which vice president Alan Clark said looms as an exciting one.
“We’ve got a lot of young talent and a lot of very fit veterans as well, and it’s always fun to crack into a new season,” he said.
“Having 10 races across the year is a pretty busy season so we’re really looking forward to it.”
Clark encouraged anyone interested in running, cycling or swimming to get involved in the sport.
“Triathlon is the best way for anyone to get fit with all three disciplines, so we encourage anyone who enjoys either of them to come down and have a go,” he said.
“It’s also a good way to test yourself and take on something new.”
The season launch will see the club handing out race information while Bike-Fit will be demoing how to prepare for the cycle leg of a triathlon.
The club is open to anyone aged between 15 and 70, and will kick off its first race of the season on Sunday, October 29.
