Making their way out of the deep, damp swamps of Pinjarra, Applejack and Moonshine are dead set on becoming your favourite bluegrass band.
Made up of various elements of Mandurah’s ever-healthy local music scene, Applejack and Moonshine live and breathe bluegrass, all through a filter of friendly down-homeyness.
While you may recognise some of the band’s musicians, it’s worth remembering that they’re living bluegrass to the extreme – complete with novelty characters.
“It’s impossible to not have fun while listening to bluegrass, it’s addictive,” voacalist Dave “Captain Moonshine” Feenstra said.
They launch debut EP Deep, Dark, Down at the Ravenswood Hotel on August 26, with a very special livestream of the EP on September 5; go to facebook.com/applejack-and-moonshine to get on board.
