Staff members at a Mandurah childcare centre have taken it upon themselves to support local parents with the rising costs of having a family.
Buggles Childcare Mandurah decided to drop their fees from June 19, to make childcare more accessible to the city’s families.
“We appreciate the costs of raising a family, so we are reducing our fee to do our part and say thank you for the continued support of our local community,” centre manager Danielle Sharpe said.
“We have never done this before and it’s unheard of in the industry, however, it’s our way of giving back and growing the sense of community we have here at Buggles Childcare Mandurah.”
The centre is reducing its fees by up to $20 a day, with fees changing from $98 per day to $85 for toddlers 18 to 36 months of age attending between one and two days a week.
For those attending more than three days, the centre is offering a daily fee of $73.
“We really do hope these new fees will help our current families and new families who need childcare to be able access our services and make it more affordable in general,” Ms Sharpe said.
