Netballers in the Peel Football Netball League will put their long pre-season training regimes into action when they take to the floor for the first round of the season on Friday night.
All round one games will be held at the newly-renovated Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre with teams battling it out to get the early lead on the ladder.
Netball coordinator Jodi Dunlop said teams were eager to get the ball rolling on what shapes as an exciting season.
“It’s really exciting that it’s finally here. Most teams have been in pre-season training since February so they’re all keen to get the season underway,” she said.
“It will be really nice to get it all in full swing again.”
Rockingham will be the only club without a side in the 2017 competition, with Pinjarra and Baldivis shaping as the heavyweights.
“We have a lot of quality netballers in the league this season – it’s been a great turnout for it,” Dunlop said.
“Baldivis and Pinjarra will both be hard to beat but I think it will be a pretty even competition.”
