The Peel Junior Cricket Association season concluded over the weekend with grand finals being played in the under 13s, 14s, 15s and 17s age groups at Lark Hill on Saturday and Sunday.
In the under 13s, minor premiers Secret Harbour White (5/71) defeated White Knights Baldivis (10/70) in a dominating performance from the premiers.
Baldivis batted first and were bowled out early thanks to an incredible all round team performance from the Dockers with only one of Secret Harbour’s 13 bowlers going for more than eight runs.
Toby Newman led the way taking 3/1 from his two overs.
Meanwhile in the under 14s, in another top of the table clash, Mandurah (10/93) were defeated by a spirited Hillman outfir (1/102).
Mandurah started the day well with Max Falkingham top-scoring with 20, followed by Sam Costley with 17*.
However Mandurah could not capitalise on their good start with Hillman’s bowlers getting on top led by James Jacobs (2/2) and Khan Dalbello (2/6).
In reply Hillman’s batsmen made light work of the score with Riley Ward 30* and Nathan Banks 33* both retiring unbeaten before Lucas Martin 15* and Harry Steel 5* came in to finish the job.
Brayden Strack 1/14 was the sole wicket taker for Mandurah.
In the under 15s, the third top of the table clash saw Pinjarra defeated by Halls Head on Lark Hill 2.
After a strong start with the bat Pinjarra were unable to put enough runs on the board to prevent Halls Head from chasing down the total inside 30 overs.
Finally in the under 17s, league leaders White Knights Baldivis (6/198) defeated Halls Head (10/122).
Sent into bat first, Baldivis started strongly with Wesley Steele 33*, Mitchell Steele 32 and Ben Merrifield 48 showing their class with the bat untroubled by Halls Heads bowlers, while Mitch Rohland blasted a quick-fire 38 which included five fours and a six.
In reply, Halls Head’s innings never really got started losing wickets on a consistent basis thanks to some impressive bowling from Baldivis.
Jake Wyllie played the lone hand with the bat with a half century while Baldivis captain Connor Russell lead the way with the ball taking 3/16 opening the bowling.
