The Vinnies store in Pinjarra is set to undergo a small facelift, with new store manager Lee Maidment keen to re-invigorate the store and recruit new volunteers.
Vinnies spokeswomen Joanne Hill said the store was looking for more volunteers to take over tasks such as serving customers at the counter, ringing up sales through the register and giving a hand to shoppers.
“Volunteers will enjoy working in a supportive environment and are trained in all areas of working in a retail environment including register operation, customer service, sorting and pricing donations and merchandising,” she said.
“Our volunteers always have a great time and enjoy the opportunity to give back to the community by giving some of their time.”
Ms Hill said Vinnies were more than just simply op shops, with all proceedings going towards emergency and relief assistance, vital support services for community members going through a hard time.
“They are pivotal in providing welfare support to people who are doing it tough,” she said.
“With a wide range of great quality second hand items including clothing, homewares and furniture all at an affordable price, it is an important outlet for many people in the local community.”
The Vinnies op shops are located across Western Australia and provide items such as clothing, books, collectables and furniture for sale.
All items are donated by the community, with the funds raised through sales going to the St Vincent de Paul Society.
