Mandurah locals and visitors will have the opportunity to meet under the city’s historic Moreton Bay fig tree for a special high tea event during this year’s Crab Fest.
The High Tea under the Fig Tree event will be put together by local businesses Decadent C’s, Frisky Deer Interior and Design and Cape Bouvard Winery, and will be available to visitors on March 18 and 19.
Attendees to the ticketed food experience will receive a glass of sparkling wine from Cape Bouvard Winery upon arrival before taking a sit under the marquee to enjoy barista made coffee from Frisky Deer and small sweet and savoury treats by Decadent C’s.
Herbal and English tea options will also be available, and a sparkling wine bar will be running throughout the event.
Decadent C’s Jenny Todd said their special sweet and savoury delicacy menu is still a secret, but she said it would consist of very special unique nibbles.
However, it is anticipated it will feature their pistachio and raspberry bonbon, the recipe of which will be featured in this year’s Crab Fest recipe book for locals to give it a go.
Mayor Marina Vergone said the High Tea under the Fig Tree event was also an opportunity for local business to raise their profile and gain exposure.
“As we get closer to Mandurah’s biggest weekend, it’s great to see local businesses stepping up to get the most out of Crab Fest,” she said.
“Mandurah’s iconic Moreton Bay Fig Tree is the perfect spot to enjoy the high tea and a glass of bubbly whilst taking in the water views and taking a break from the crowds.”
The High Tea will take place on Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19 at 2pm under the fig tree at Stingray Point, Mandurah.
