Mandurah Performing Arts Centre (MPAC) has renewed its partnership with Healthways and is set to receive $90 000 in sponsorship for their 2017 Act-Belong-Commit ‘Get in the Swim’ public program, which encourages locals to ‘jump in’ to arts activities.
The year-long program offers non-ticketed, mostly free activities such as the Hot Shore Shuffle, The Sand Pit, Mandurah Proms, Swell Day Out and public workshops.
“The Act-Belong-Commit message is around being active to stay mentally healthy, and as we know, with the mental health issues in our area, Mandurah and the Peel region, it’s a very good fit with us,” MPAC director Guy Boyce said.
“I’m really thrilled to renew this relationship, and encourage our community to participate in local activities in the arts.”
