ANOTHER flock of chickens have been found with missing heads close to Mandurah town centre.
Wyeree Road resident Julie Bywaters was taking scraps to her pen at the bottom of the garden when she found the dead bodies.
Ms Bywaters said one body and a head were missing with the others beheaded and the remains scattered throughout the pen.
“I couldn’t believe it, I’ve owned chickens for 22 years in this house and never had this happen before,” she said.
“It was horrible to find them that way. They were my girls who I’d had for years.”
Ms Bywaters said she thought the chickens were killed by a fox but her pen was guarded so the fox would have to jump more than five foot to get in.
‘I’ve called the rangers and reported it but I also wanted to warn other chicken owners to make sure their pens are secure,” she said.
Earlier this month residents also reported dead chickens which had been killed by a fox in Halls Head and a chicken’s body was found on Hackett Street last week.
