A reckless and unlicensed driver has been arrested and charged after they were caught going more than 100kmh past St Joseph's Catholic Primary School yesterday afternoon.
South West Traffic officers detected a bronze Holden Commodore Sedan travelling at high speed in an active school zone on Parade Road, Withers, at about 2.55pm on Wednesday.
It will be alleged that the car was detected going 60kmh above the posted 40kmh speed zone limit, with the presence of school children on foot in the area.
The driver of the vehicle was a 24 year old woman from Mount Helena who was arrested and charged by police with a number of offences including: No Authority to Drive, Reckless Driving 45kmh+ and Provide False Particulars.
She is due to appear in the Bunbury Magistrates Court this morning and the Holden Commodore has been impounded for 28 days.
