The Mandurah Magic men's team had a win against Willetton on Saturday night at home while the women suffered a 10-point loss to the Tigers.
The Magic men’s team responded in the best possible fashion following their 42-point loss to Joondalup last week to defeat Willetton by 14 points on Saturday.
In a close opening half which saw the Magic lead by three points it was the third period where the game was won with the Mandurah team piling on 33 points to 14 to eventually win 106-92.
Taylor Mullenax was in top form for the Magic with 30 points and nine rebounds and was well supported by Rhett Della with 23 points.
Paul Hafford notched up a triple double with 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 14 points.
The Magic remain in fifth position with eight wins and four losses only percentage behind Willetton in fourth.
In the women's game, Tigers and Perth Lynx centre Louella Tomlinson scored 21 out of the 63 points to go along with 11 blocks as the Tigers finished with a 63-53 win.
Peyton Davis was a star in her first home game for the Magic, scoring 14 points and pulling down 13 rebounds.
Emma Klasztorny pulled down 10 boards while the ever-reliable Casey Mihovilovich scored 13 points.
That loss has pushed the Magic back to a 8-3 record which puts them fourth on the ladder while Willetton are 9-1 and move to second, just percentage off Rockingham Flames.
This weekend the Magic play Lakeside on Friday at the Lakeside Recreation Centre with the women tipping off at 6.30pm followed by the men at 8.30pm.
The Magic men back it up on Saturday against the Goldfield Giants at home at 7.30pm.
